Petrarch was an early humanist during the start of the Renaissance. Humanism is the idea that humans have unlimited potential and cannot be held back by anything. Which is a very new idea compared to the old medieval idea of being always loyal to your king who provided land for you. Along with this he was also a scholar and poet. Many of the letters that he wrote are clearly well written and he is also famous for his sonnets. These things that he did inspired others to do the same after seeing the fame that he gained from it, and created an era where great artists and writers were celebrities.
