The instability in Europe due to the First World War laid the groundwork for the Second World War to emerge. WW2 broke out two decades later than WW1, and was even more devastating. As Germany wobbled on its foundation, both economically and politically unstable, Adolf Hitler, leader of the Nazi Party, rose to power and almost immediately started signing treaties with Italy and Japan to start furthering his dreams of world domination. Hitler's invasion of Poland in September 1939 inspired Great Britain and France to declare war on Germany. Over the next six years, the heartbreaking conflict would take the lives of 45-60 million people, 6 million of which were Jews murdered in the Nazi's diabolical concentration camps, which were part of Hitler's "Final Solution", which is known now as the Holocaust, which of course included the horrible persecution of Jews which was carried out by Adolf Hitler.

On 2 September, 1945, the Second World War finally ended after years of merciless bloodshed and brutal killing. The Western Allies and the Soviet Union invaded Germany towards the end of the war, which aided in the ending of WW2 - which was mostly the unconditional surrender of the Axis Powers, or Adolf Hitler's party in the war, which of course included the Nazis. It seems that the true date of when WW2 ended cannot be universally agreed on, as the war actually ended in seperate stages in different countries. However, many events led up to the full finish of World War 2, such as the invasion of Germany, the bombing on the German city of Dresden, the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, Japan, the Battle of Imo Jima, British and American troops crossing the Rhine, the war's last bomb, a V1, falls on Britain, all resistance in Ruhr falls, Germany surrenders, and Japan continues fighting but they eventually also surrender. These events are not all of the happenings which influenced the end of WW2.
