War of the 3rd Coalition (1803 - 1805)
- England attacks French trade ships (1803)
- Battle of Trafalgar (1805): Admiral Villeneuve attacks the British fleet and loses, which was decisive in securing British control over the seas until the beginning of the 20th century.
- Russia and Austria join an alliance with England, worried about Napoleon's rising power.

- Sweden, Prussia and Austria join the alliance
- Battle of Leipzig (Battle of Nations, 1813): the Saxons betray Napoleon and the French retreat, despite initial success
- Napoleon loses territories
- The war moves to France. Paris falls.
- Napoleon abdicates (April 1814)
- Peace in Paris (1814) - French territories return to the state from 1792.
- Napoleon is exiled to Elba.
- Louis XVIII Bourbon restored to the throne.
