1600 - In revenge for being dethroned in Sweden, Sigismund III incorporates northern parts of Livonia into Poland-Lithuania, starting a war.
1605 - Battle of Kircholm, a win for Poland-Lithuania.
King Gustav Adolf takes over the command of the Swedish army as a gifted strategist.
1621 - Sweden takes Riga.
1627 - Small Polish victory in the sea battle of Oliwa.
1629 - Polish success in the battle of Trzciana. A truce is signed, in connection with the Thirty Years' War.
1632 - Sigismund III Vasa dies. Sweden plans an attack, but changes plans when Władysław IV Vasa turns out to be a strong and skilled ruler.
1635 - Both sides sign a settlement. Sweden keeps Livonia, while Poland-Lithuania secures its influence on the coast around Prussia.
