James Dean (8 feb 1931 anni – 30 sett 1955 anni)

Descrizione:

Born on February 8, 1931, in Marion, Indiana, James Byron Dean born the only baby of Winton and Mildred (Wilson) Dean. Winton, a dental technician (a person who creates dental appliances), moved his family to Santa Monica, California, when Dean was six years old. Dean became particularly near his mom, who had dreams of him being a performer. She enrolled him in faucet dance lessons at the age of three, and taught him violin. In July 1940 Dean's mom died of cancer. This was a loss he would experience strongly all of his life. His father dispatched him and returned to Fairmount, Indiana, to stay with Marcus and Ortense Winslow, Winton Dean's sister and brother-in-law. In Fairmount Dean grew up. After graduating in 1949, Dean left for Los Angeles, California, and lived a short distance from his father and stepmother. He entered Santa Monica City College, majoring in pre-law, however it turned into a drama in which he shone. The following 12 months he transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles. Befriended with the aid of actor James Whitmore (1924–), Dean received a small part in a television drama, Hill Number One. Soon Dean quit university and worked as a car parking zone attendant, participating in auditions each time they were available. In 1951, after landing the most effective bit elements and a small role in Fixed Bayonets, a war picture, he left Hollywood for New York. There, in 1953, he landed a spot within the Actors Studio run via Lee Strasberg (1901–1982).
