German-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact (23 agos 1939 anni – 1 gen 1949 anni)

Descrizione:

Shortly before World War II broke out in Europe–enemies Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union surprised the world by signing the German-Soviet Nonaggression Pact, in which the two countries to take no violence, military action or aggression towards each other for the next 10 years.

CAUSES
Hitler wanted to focus on France and Britain on the west of Germany without worry of an Easterly power (the soviet Union) attacking them as well, so he planned for a pact to be signed that he could so so once Poland had been invaded.

Hitlers armies could invade Poland with almost no powerful force to fight if the Non-aggression pact with the Soviet Union were to happen (which it did).

EFFECTS
Germany had no problem invading and conquering Poland, due to the agreement being official.

Germany began having more power after the invasion of Poland, and the West allies (France and Britain) became aware and declared war on Germany.
