(July 17, 1942–February 2, 1943) The Battle of Stalingrad is known as one of the longest, largest and bloodiest battles in modern history. This battle was a between Russian forces and those of Nazi Germany and the Axis powers during World War II. This went on for close to six months, from August 1942 to February 1943. Over two million soldiers fought and almost 2 millions soldiers died or got injured.
