Thomas More and Utopia (29 gen 1478 anni – 8 ottob 1538 anni)

Descrizione:

The lord chancellor of England and a friend of Erasmus, Thomas more was a devout man. He wrote one of the most controversial books of his age, "Utopia." In this book, he describes the idealistic life and the institutions in a community called Utopia. It was what he imagined to be a perfect world.

In this world, there was communal ownership (no private property), people had leisure time, there was no greed, and all people worked nine hours a day. Cooperation and reason replaced power and fame in his new social system.

He was accused of heresy and killed.
