During this period the Greeks control the ANCE, including Jerusalem. Their philosophy of occupation employs aggressive assimilation/enculturation of conquered cultures. Thus, all of the ANCE, including Israel, is radically "hellenized" (made to adopt greek culture) such that the language and the culture is still greek through the Roman period
