The left-wing revolutionary (Socialist Revolutionary) party didn’t take part in the First Duma
Regardless of their refusal to take part, the First Duma was very anti-government, as it was dominated by both the Kadets and Truvokids.
The Trudoviks were members of the Socialist Revolutionary party who had disagreed with them, as they wanted to split off into their own group. Their main demand was land reforms and taking more land from the landlords.
The Kadets supported this, but also wanted the State Council to be abolished and for the government to answer directly to the Duma.
These demands were too radical for the government, who were not willing to compromise. Therefore, after just 10 weeks, the Tsar decided to dissolve the Duma, leaving many liberals very disappointed in the speedy return to complete autocratic rule.
