Witte's economic reforms
- he was appointed minister for finance
- mostly focused on industrial reforms over agricultural
ones
- by 1892 the majority of russia's economy came from agricultural
production
-he placed Russia onto the Gold Standard which stabilised russia finacially

- The Kadets were led by Milyukov, wanting a
constitutional monarchy
- octoberists were led by Alexander Guchkov
- they supported the october manifesto, which
led to critisim from other opposition groupsPopulists- formed in 1870
- they argued for agricultural communes and
co-op workshops
- this would help to develop the economy for russia
leading to capitalism

failed to gain much large scale support- due to his reforms iron and steel increased sevenfold, from 1890s to 1905

-income from industry rose from 42 million to 161 million in 4 years
despite these changes there were some cons
- Witte focused so much on industrial reforms neglecting anything else
- increased reliance on foreign investing than on homegrown talent
-the implementation of the Trans-Siberian line though would bring prestige
