Malcolm's family's home was burnt down
Malcolm's family move from Omaha to Milwaukee, Wisconsin
The Little family moves to Lansing, Michigan and move into a White neighbourhood where they were sued for eviction because they weren't caucasian
Malcolm's father was killed in a "streetcar accident" which Malcolm later believes was the KKK
Malcolm's mother was sent to a mental asylum because she was mentally ill.
Malcolm and his siblings were split and sent to different foster families. Malcolm was sent to a juvenile home in Mason, Michigan where he does very well in school. This is where his teacher discourages him from becoming a lawyer.
Malcolm visits his half sister, Ella Collins in Roxbury, Boston where he was suprised to see the amount of black people he saw in one place.
Ella Collins gains custody of Malcolm and he moves to Boston with her. He works multiple jobs there and starts hustling.
Malcolm wants to join the Military but is deemed mentally unfit because he states that he wants to fight for the Japanese and kill all whites.
Malcolm is sentenced to four months in jail and 1 year of probation for larcency.
Malcolm goes on a stealing spree with his black friend and three white women, one of whom he had been dating.
Because of the stealing spree, Malcolm was arrested and charged with grand larceny, breaking and entering, and firearms possession. He and Jarvis were given an 8-10 year sentence but the white women have their sentenced suspended.
