1810 whalers came to new zealand to kill whales and seals, at the time they also introduced cotton clothes, stone tools, potatoes, , tobacco, alcohol, muskets and diseases.
In 1840 the treaty of waitangi was signed. The treaty of waitangi was an agreement of the 3 p's partnership, participation and protection. However the transaltion from maori to eurapeons were different so there was a bit of miscomunaction in the treaty.

In 1863 The british government confiscated 2.5 million hectares of land from maori because they acted in rebellion against Her Majesty's authority so all the maori became very poor. So maori lost a lot of land after the NZ war.
1865 was the maori land court witch was trying to convert the maori way of holding land to the english way of legal land titles

1872 is when the NZ wars ended, the wars stopped because the lost 300 people and the tribes kept getting weaker so they stopped fighting.

1769 James cook captain sailed his ship HMS and was the first sighting of maori and it did not go well, they blew their trumpets as well as cooks ship did, it was a big misunderstanding.
