Gnostic - Gnostic authorship Jewish - Jewish Authorship Roman - Author affiliated in some way with the Roman government. Pagan/Other - Author a Roman citizen not affiliated with the government, typically pagan, or unknown. Likely Authentic - Scholarly consensus that the work is authentic to the date and/or authorship it claims. (or is claimed of it) Debated Authenticity - No scholarly consensus that the work is authentic to the date and/or authorship it claims. (or is claimed of it) Not Authentic - Scholarly consensus that the work is not authentic to the date and/or authorship it claims. (or is claimed of it) Dates are from the relevant Wikipedia articles, and sometimes from earlychristianwritings.com when not available on Wikipedia. I tried to be as generous as possible with dates, though there are more specific ranges which texts were more likely written during.
