Adolf Hitler is appointed chancellor of GermanyThe Nazi Party initiates a one-day boycott of Jewish-owned businessesThe public burning of books written by Jews and writers known for having anti-Nazi views is carried out. Such writers include Thomas and Heinrich Mann, Heinrich Heine and Albert Einstein.A law is enacted which revokes the German citizenship that had been granted since 1918 to 'undesirable' persons (Jews from eastern Europe).
