Stated in the Hygiene for Health website,
the purification of water started in 2000 BC,
they purified water by boiling and filtering,
which was described in Sanskrit writings.Later on in the 1800s, most human waste in England
was outside because of the lack of toilets for their increasing population.
Furthermore, because of this problem, it led to the Public Health Act in 1848
and the Sanitary Act in 1866, making the local authorities in charge of
regulating sanitation.Next was the creation of the Septic Tank in 1860 by Louis Moureas,
this invention was used by people to discard solids from waste
before the liquid was released into the body of water.After, In 1865 New York City experienced a sanitation crisis with having a lot of garbage and filth in the streets.Periodi
Around 460-377 BC it is said that it
was when hygiene became knowingly important.To add to that, during the time period of the 1800s-1900s, sewer systems were
implemented in many cities of the U.S. and Europe, but this ended up causing an
overwhelming amount of untreated sewage. This made people experiment with
different ways to treat the untreated sewage such as sewage farming and filtration.Further improvements were made in the developed countries throughout the following years,
although for underdeveloped countries, time didn’t change or improve water and sanitation
as drastically. Many people in those countries still to this day deal with problems from poor
sanitation and contaminated water.
