Mt. Vesuvius erupts and destroys Pompeii. The dust from the eruption buried Pompeii under a thick carpet of ash, killing 2,000 people. Pompeii had some of Rome's most distinguished citizens before the city was destroyed.Constantine baptized as christian- just before his death, Constantine was baptized as a christian. Etruscans take over Rome- Starting in 600 BC, Rome was conquered by many Etruscan princes from across the Tiber River.
