this is the 13th amendement that had abloshied slavery. It is important to the reconstruction era because it had freed all slaves.first time for there to be black house representatives. Its important because it's a new change for the US.KKK created in Tenessee after shortly passing the 13th amendement. It is showing how whites were not okay with the change.The civil right act was still passed even though Johnson had vetoed it. It goes with reconstruction era because its a new break for African Americans.the 14th amendment is passed. Its giving everyone equal right and everyoejn to be treated equal no matter the race.A former slave Oscar J Dunn becomes leuoenant governor of louisiana. He is a black man givem a high role.Hiram Revels is the first black senator. This is important to resconstruction time era because its not usual for any black man to be in senate so its a huge jump.civil rights were important to blacks so they started to march for the first time. To start to fight for being treated equally during bus rides and in public.
