Plant grown to its strongest point; Cared for and shown that it can endure.

Middle of the plants growth; Getting stronger less withered

Quotes are in the description section of the text boxes
Start of Mama's plant; Not fully grown and kind of withered.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
This is the final stage of Mama's plant it shows that she has overcome every challenge that has come to her since she bought the plant. It shows her commitment and the strength she gave to her children because Walter came through and stuck with the house allowing them to have a new start and Mama, to finally get her garden.
This first sage of the plant shows that Mama hasn't experienced anything major yet (In the section that the book puts us in) so the plant isn't lively yet with accomplishments. Its is new, not fully matured and ready for new experiences.
This stage of the plant shows that Mama is experienced more and her knowledge is growing, so the plant grows with her, the experience of buying the new house and giving the money to Walter makes her ready to overcome the next obsticle.
Overall, Mama's plant grew from a small, withered plant to a tall proud sapling, just like Mama. Started small and without much but grew to be what she is now. That being strong and durable with all the overcome problems under her belt.
