16 magg 1767 anni - Townshed Act Of 1767
Descrizione:
The Townshend Acts were a series of laws passed by the British Parliament in 1767 that imposed taxes on common goods like tea, glass, and paper imported to American colonies. The colonists reacted strongly believing these taxes violated their rights since they had no representation in Parliament. Protests and boycotts of British goods grew leading to tensions between colonists and British soldiers. The growing contributed to the outbreak of the American War for Independence in 1775.
