20 magg 1996 anni - Romer v. Evans (1996)
Descrizione:
This case took place in Colorado and involved the 2nd Amendment, which was passed by Colorado in 1992 and prohibited passing of legislation aimed at protecting LGBTQIA+ from discrimination. It additionally nullified prior anti-discrimination legislation passed in Colorado.
Opponents of the 2nd Amendment in Colorado sued, claiming it violates the 14th Amendment's Equal Protection Clause. The Amendment was struck down 6-3 by the Supreme Court, who agreed it was unconstitutional under the 14th Amendment. The court found the 2nd Amendment of Colorado had no rational basis and lacked legitimate purpose.
