1 gen 1986 anni - ≈1986: The first ever criminal case to involve DNA recognition begins, and ends years later with a correct conviction.

Descrizione:

In Narborough, a town of Leicestershire, England, two teen girls had been raped and killed about three years about from 1986-1989. The man in custody for the killings at the time, Richard Buckland, had confessed to only one of the crimes, yet Alec Jeffreys had been called to the case to test semen samples collected from the girls' bodies and determined not only that both girls were assaulted and killed by the same person, but that the person was not Buckland at all. The true perpetrator, Colin Pitchfork, was found and apprehended for both murders after the DNA evidence cleared Mr. Buckland. This was a first ever case in history in which DNA both cleared and found a perpetator of a crime.
