Cabo Bojador, is a headland on the northwestern coast of Africa, located in present-day Western Sahara. It was a place feared by navigators due to the danger it presented.
In 1434, the Portuguese sailor Gil Eanes, under the sponsorship of Prince Henry the Navigator (Infante Dom Henrique), finally crossed Cabo Bojador. This achievement was a breaktrough in portuguese maritime exploration.
