16yo; Rose was a 5'3-5'6, 120-130lb white female with brown hair, hazel eyes, and freckles. She was born on December 23, 1956. Some agencies may spell her middle name as "Leanna." She was originally from Flint, Michigan.

In 1972, Rose was sent by a Michigan judge to a Synanon Foundation facility in Oakland, CA after she was caught using drugs and/or "after running away repeatedly and telling a judge she used and sold drugs." The Synanon Foundation facility was an institution that treated people suffering from alcohol and drug abuse. Rose wrote to her family while she was there.

According to NamUs, Rose ran away sometime toward the end of 1972. In early February 1973, Rose sent a letter from an unknown location. That was the last time anyone heard from her. According to NamUs, she was last seen in the summer of 1973 in Oakland. The missing date is an approximation.

Charley Project states that Rose sent two letters to her family after leaving the Synanon, assuring them that she was fine. In one of the letters she stated that she was living on the streets in the Chinatown neighborhood of San Francisco, and added that she was sick with a kidney infection. She also wrote that she would not write to her family again until she was 18, as she was worried the Synanon officials would find her and bring her back to the treatment center against her will. She apparently promised to contact her loved ones after she became a legal adult. However, her family has never heard from her again.

According to Charley Project, "Accounts of when exactly she went missing vary considerably. She may have disappeared anytime between the fall of 1972 and the summer of 1973." NamUs and Doe Network give her date of disappearance as July 1, 1973. Charley Project lists it as September 1, 1972.

"The Synanon Foundation (originally the Tender Loving Care club) was founded by Charles Dederich, Sr. in 1958 as a rehabilitation center for both drug and alcohol addicts. Its headquarters was originally in Santa Monica, California, but as it gained popularity and wealth over the years, it had chapters in other California counties, Detroit, and as far away as Germany and Malaysia. Over the years, Synanon became a utopian society/ cult not unlike Jim Jones' Peoples Temple. Dederich declared Synanon a religion in 1974 and was forced to give up operations of Synanon when he pled no contest to conspiracy to commit murder in 1978."

"It is worth noting that the Synanon Foundation has often been labeled as a cult. It was founded as a drug rehabilitation program in 1958 and became an alternative community by the 1960s and a church by the 1970s. Participants were expected to turn all of their assets over to the group and join the community for life. Those who left the group were often persecuted and even beaten as a result. The IRS shut the Synanon Foundation down in 1989.

There is no evidence that a crime was committed in Rose's disappearance; her case is classified as a simple runaway. However, it is highly unusual for a runaway to be out of touch with her loved ones for this long, and her relatives would like to get in contact with her and verify her well-being. Her case remains unsolved."

According to Doe Network, Rose's dental records and DNA are available, while her fingerprints are not.

Rose is said to have 35 UID exclusions on NamUs, however one of these is an accidental repeat. In reality, she actually has 34 rule-outs. One of these, Portland Jane Doe (October 1994), is from OR. Three are from WA: two that are no longer available on NamUs, as well as Pierce County Jane Doe 2010. Ten (10) of Rose's exclusions were found in CA, three (3) of which are no longer available on NamUs. The other seven are La Habra Heights Jane Doe (1973); LA County Jane Doe (August 1980); San Bernardino Jane Doe (1987); Daly City Jane Doe (1987); Colfax Jane Doe (1990); San Bernardino Jane Doe (2005); and Brisbane, CA Jane Doe (2013).
