29 ottob 1963 anni - Judith Gail Williamson
ABDUCTION & HOMICIDE
Descrizione:
On Tuesday, October 29, 1963, Judith Williamson, 18, who went by Judy, went missing while on her way to classes at UC Berkeley from her home in Albany. Her umbrella and bloodstained books were discovered in a garbage can on the college campus ten days later. A pool of blood was also found in a campus parking garage.
Three years later, in 1966, Judy's remains were found in a wooded canyon about 100 miles from her home. It was determined that she had been stabbed to death.
In November 1977, a man named Joseph Egenberger, 31, turned himself in to the police. In early 1978, Egenberger -- who was 17 at the time of Judy's death -- was put on trial for her murder, though he had pleaded innocent. He was found guilty.
I found this case due to it being mentioned quite often in newspaper articles about the later murder of Diane Gerrish. Furthermore, other female college students murdered on campus include Cheri Jo Bates, Jenny Low Chang, Betsy Aardsma, etc.
