Tidmouth station receives a new pilot tank engine, Thomas, who is cheeky and loves pulling pranks on the big engines. After Gordon decides to go for a nap between trains, Thomas jump-scares him and puffs away satisfied. The next day, Thomas is slow to waking up so Gordon decides to get his payback. When shunting the express to the platform, Gordon departs before Thomas can be uncoupled from the shunted coaches, he sets off and takes him over the viaduct and to Wellsworth station, leaving him exhausted. Thomas learns his lesson and puffs back home slowly.
