At this time segregation was still a commonality and the policy "Separate but Equal" was put in place. Because of Thurgood Marshall's arguments that separate was not equal, this case became the new norm. After this most states were no longer segregated and children went to school together no matter the color of their skin. This is arguably the biggest event in the history of the US. The significance of this can be seen in all of the colored individual who were able to get a good education and go on to change the world.
