The Palestinian Freedom Movement (Arabic: حركة الأحرار الفلسطينية), initially known as Fatah al-Yasir, was established after Hamas took over the Gaza Strip in June 2007. Formed by former Fatah members and led by Khalid Abu-Hilal, the party opposes Mahmoud Abbas's authority and shares Hamas's view of the Fatah leadership as corrupt. The movement supports armed struggle against Israeli occupation.
Al-Ansar Brigades (Arabic: كتائب الأنصار), its armed wing, participated in the 2023 Hamas-led attack on Israel.
