At about 8am on Tuesday, June 25, 1968, 17-year-old Sandra Kay Stickney's fully-clothed yet shoeless body was found in a newly cleared area in Pomona, LA County, about 4ft from the dead end of Acacia Hills Drive, near Ciblo Drive, on a hillside near a housing development.

She had been stabbed four times in the throat and chest with a knife. She was found lying face-up. She had not been raped or sexually assaulted. Her shoes were found about 10ft from her body, alongside her purse.

She was last seen alive shortly after midnight on Tuesday as she walked toward her home at 13926 Ramhust Drive, La Mirada, LA County from her job at Gotham Industries Inc, Imperial Highway and Bloomfield Ave in Norwalk. She worked the 4pm-12am shift. She was found at about 8am at Diamond Bar, approx. 12mi away.

Her husband has an alibi and was cleared of suspicion. Investigators believe(d) that she was lured or pulled into a car while walking home from work and "stabbed to death when she resisted her killer's advances."

It seems that Sandra's murder has gone unsolved. I found out about this case when it was mentioned alongside those of other potential victims in a Zodiac forum.
