Recalling: Resolutions 194 (III), 302 (IV), 393 (V), 513 (VI), 614 (VII), 720 (VIII), 818 (IX), 916 (X), and 1018 (XI).

Noting:

The annual report of the Director of UNRWA and the report of the Advisory Commission.
Grave concern over insufficient contributions to the budget and the serious financial situation of UNRWA.
Lack of progress in refugee repatriation or compensation and in the reintegration programme.
Recognizing:

Host governments' expressed support for UNRWA's mandate and their willingness to cooperate under international agreements.
Draws attention to the critical financial situation of UNRWA and urges governments to consider increasing their contributions to avoid service cuts.

Requests the Secretary-General to urgently secure additional financial assistance for UNRWA to meet its budget and operational needs.

Directs UNRWA to continue its programmes for refugee relief and rehabilitation, taking into account the responses from paragraphs 1 and 2.

Requests host governments to fully cooperate with UNRWA and provide necessary assistance to carry out its functions.

Requests area governments, in cooperation with UNRWA, to plan and execute projects supporting substantial refugee populations.

Requests UNRWA to continue consultations with the UN Conciliation Commission for Palestine, focusing on resolution 194 (III).

Expresses thanks to the Director, staff of UNRWA, specialized agencies, and private organizations for their ongoing efforts in assisting refugees.

Requests the Director of UNRWA to continue submitting reports as per General Assembly resolution 1018 (XI).
