Recalling resolutions 194 (III) of 11 December 1948, 302 (IV) of 8 December 1949, 393 (V) of 2 December 1950, 513 (VI) of 26 January 1952, 614 (VII) of 6 November 1952, 720 (VIII) of 27 November 1953, and 818 (IX) of 4 December 1954,

Noting the annual report and special reports of the Director of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, as well as the special report of the Advisory Commission of the Agency,

Having reviewed the budgets for relief and rehabilitation prepared by the Director of the Agency,

Concerned that repatriation or compensation of refugees as outlined in resolution 194 (III) has not been achieved, and that substantial progress in the reintegration programme endorsed in resolution 513 (VI) has not materialized, leading to continued grave concern over the refugee situation,

Directs the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East to continue its programmes for the relief and rehabilitation of refugees within the constraints of available fiscal contributions;

Requests the Agency to maintain consultation with the United Nations Conciliation Commission for Palestine, particularly regarding paragraph 11 of resolution 194 (III);

Urges the governments in the region, in collaboration with the Agency's Director, to intensify efforts to identify and execute projects capable of supporting significant refugee populations, without prejudice to paragraph 11 of resolution 194 (III);

Acknowledges the progress made by the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Agency in addressing obstacles hindering the provision of rations to qualified refugee children in Jordan;

Recognizes the urgent needs of other vulnerable groups as highlighted in the Director's special report under paragraph 6 of resolution 818 (IX), including frontier villagers in Jordan, non-refugee populations in Gaza strip, certain refugees in Egypt, and Bedouin communities;

Calls upon private organizations to increase their support to these vulnerable groups where local governments are unable to fully provide assistance;

Encourages all governments and individuals to support these private organizations with donations of food, goods, and services;

Requests the Negotiating Committee for Extra-Budgetary Funds to secure necessary funds upon receipt of budgets from the Agency's Director;

Appeals to Member and non-member States to make voluntary contributions essential for fulfilling the Agency's programmes, and expresses gratitude to religious, charitable, and humanitarian organizations for their continuous support to refugees;

Expresses appreciation to the Director and staff of the Agency for their dedicated efforts, urging governments in the region to facilitate Agency operations and ensure the safety of personnel and assets;

Requests the Agency's Director to continue submitting reports as specified in paragraph 21 of resolution 302 (IV), along with annual budgets.
