A Buddhist monk began spreading the teachings of Wǔ jiàn tiān bīngqì, or the Five Sets of Heavenly Weapons, the worship of a millenarian eschatology and a voluntary path of salvation. They were an offshoot White Lotus sect, primarily worshipping Wusheng Laomu.
