On Black Tuesday, the incredible decrease in stocks caused a mass panic for people to sell. However, many people bought their stocks on borrowed money from the banks and the banks also invested. This caused people everywhere to lose all of their money and paved the way for the Great Depression which took effect in many places around the world.
