Descrizione:
Acre, locally known as Akko, is a city on Israel's northern coast, historically significant as one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited settlements. First settled in the Early Bronze Age, Acre was an important port and waypoint on trade routes. It played a key role during the Crusades, later fell under Ottoman rule, and underwent significant population and cultural shifts post-1947 due to the Arab-Israeli conflict. Today, Acre's mixed population of Jews, Muslims, Christians, Druze, and Baháʼís totals 51,420. The city, known for its well-preserved historical structures and status as the Baháʼí Faith's holiest site, attracts many pilgrims annually.
