Blue Streak was Britain's own rocket project that was discontinued on the grounds of cost and questionable capability.Britain hoped that it would be replaced by America's Skybolt programme. However this abandoned.
It became clear that Britain's nuclear armament relied heavily on America. Britain could be indenpendant on nuclear weapons.
