1 gen 1953 anni - Britain could buy more imports
Descrizione:
The end of the Korean War in 1953 led to a fall in raw material prises. This led to Britain's terms of trade (prise of exports in term with imports) being more affordable. By 1953, Britain could buy 13% more imports by value for the same amount of exports. This gave Britain £400 million per year in extra spending money.
The Conservatives could claim little credit for this, however it was electorialy benefitical.
