20 ore 30 min, 27 sett 2021 anni - Battle of High Mill
Descrizione:
Copto wanted the Integrity Legion to launch an all-out assault towards as many Malfot positions at once as they could. For one, not only would this show that things were being taken incredibly seriously, but it would also show that the Empire’s military capabilities had not gone anywhere, and that a rag-tag group fighting the rebellion could prove that yes, a breakthrough in Operation Finalmente was still possible. If they could do it here, they could do it there, but Schös had a different approach. He had seen war before. He had been on the ground as one of the first IOSA Agents ever being sent to battle in the infamous Operation Blitzkrieg, where various attempts to overrun the enemy using massive concentrated attacks resulted in a disastrous failure. Instead, he opted to spread the legion out around various locations in the suburbs, with his main concentration situated in the village of Kentonville. He knew that Kentonville would soon be a main target of the Malfot offensive as it would cut off one of the main routes towards St. Halladine from the north, but something Schös didn’t know was the Malfot’s end objective. What was it?
Many within IOSA had their theories, but Copto theorized that they might just be staging a large enough uprising to try and force some type of negotiations to end Operation Finalmente, and that if they took over St. Halladine, that would be enough of a blow to force the hand of the Imperial government. It was widely accepted that these rebels weren’t necessarily trying to have a permanent presence, and that they were simply acting under their beliefs. However, it would soon become even more confusing after the Integrity Legion would have its first encounter with the Malfots in the village of High Mill, west of Kentonville.
The Malfots were indeed powerful, but the Integrity Legion was motivated. Whether it be regular soldiers, or ordinary volunteers from Haloshassar defending their home, the rebels put up a fight but were soon overwhelmed. They could not get back in their trucks to drive away, as they were now surrounded on all sides. Legionnaires on side streets sweeped in and trapped the rebels on Main Street, and the Malfots there soon surrendered. The Battle of High Mill would become the first sign that this strange rebellion, while unexpected, could indeed be ended. However, the battle was ferocious enough to advance the narrative that this would be a tough fight that was far from over.
