The emergence of a wealth-based class system, wherein all individuals possess equal rights, freedoms, and opportunities to compete and pursue self-interest, heralded a departure from the hierarchical constraints of feudalism. The principles of classical liberalism found continued expression through the facilitation of a free-market economy and the promotion of equality stemming from the preservation of individual rights and freedoms within society.
