1 sett 1981 anni - The Greenham Women

Descrizione:

During the 1980s, a serge of nuclear weapons was pouring into Britain with the idea that if nuclear war would happen NATO could strike first.
This caused many CND marches to occur with increased numbers of members.

When American Cruise Missiles were to be placed in Greenham Common Base, a group of women activist some being apart of CND set up camp outside the base. When the missiles were to be placed inside the base in April 1983, a 14 mile human chain of 70,000 women formed from Greenham to Aldermaston. When Newbury local council evicted the women and destroyed the camp in 1984, the women came back and rebuilt it. The Greenham Women were a strong representation of pacifism and feminism. Even after the missles left the base in 1991, they continued protesting until 2000.
