Kenneth B. Clark was a seminal Black psychologist. Alongside his wife, Mamie Phipps Clark (PhD), he conducted pioneering studies using dolls to explore the impact of segregation on Black children's self-perception and self-esteem. Their research on the psychological effects of racial segregation was instrumental in the landmark Supreme Court case Brown v. Board of Education. He became President of the APA in 1966 (American Psychological Association, n.d.; Holliday, 2009)
