1 giug 1898 anni - Max Weber (1864–1920)
Descrizione:
German sociologist, philosopher, and political economist. Weber's theory of social action, outlined in his work "The Methodology of the Social Sciences" (1904), had implications for the study of individual behavior in social contexts. Psychologists interested in understanding how individuals act within their social environment draw on Weber's concepts of social action, motives, and meanings. Psychologists studying qualitative research methods often incorporate his idea of "verstehen" (empathetic understanding) in their studies. His concept of "ideal types" is helpful for Psychologists studying personality, social identity, and group dynamics. His ideas on bureaucracy, rationalization, and authority and their impact on individual behavior also impacted organizational psychology (Torrance, 1974).
