25 dic 800 anni - "Holy Roman Emperor"
Descrizione:
King of the Franks Charlemagne is named "Holy Roman Emperor" by the Pope in Rome in recognition of his achievements. This title is later used by the Kings of Germany who unite Germany, Burgundy and Northern Italy into one Empire.
While the principalities inside the empire experienced waxing and waning of their own power and autonomy, and the central authority of the emperor was often called into question, the Empire would last until it was effectively dissolved by Napoleon and Austrian Emperor Francis II in 1806, more than a thousand years after the coronation of Charlemagne.
