A work considered very controversial at the time because of its depiction of morality with two fully clothed men with one woman in the nude and another dress "scandalously" .Yet with this introduction of a bold subject matter, Monet created a subject matter that became liked by Napolean III.
Still many of his works were rejected by the salon which drove him to host his own public exebitions.
