The Civil war started when Agustín Gamarra was against the government. Gamarra had wanted Pedro Pablo Bermúdez to be his successor of presidency instead of Luis José de Orbegoso. on April 17, 1834 the two sides whent agenst each other and vreated the Battle of Huaylacucho.
