The 19th amendment was passed on August 18th, 1919. The congress passed it in the house of representatives. Women all over the country had been asking for the right to vote, as they felt inequal compared to men who were allowed to vote. One member of the Congress decided to ask for a new amendment to be created allowing women to vote, but it was debated for over 4 decades.
