17 sett 1978 anni - Camp David Accords
Descrizione:
This was a peace treaty signed between the Egyptian President Anwar Sadat and the Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin at the country retreat of Camp David of the President of The United States.
This treaty was meant to be a pact of peace and mutual agreement between the two countries as well as entailed the return of the Sinai Peninsula to Egypt.
The Arab world was outraged at the cowardice and betrayal of the Palestinian people by Egypt which lead to the assassination of Anwar Sadat in 1981.
Arab states gradually made peace with Israel. Without necessary support from neighbouring countries the Palestinians were left vulnerable to the disproportionate attacks of the Israeli occupation
