The populate or perish campaign was a scheme to get more people to Australia between 1945 and 1965. It got more than 2 millionooo people to migrate here. The scheme started after WW2. This was also an assisted passage scheme started by the Australian Government. These migrants provided much needed labour in the reconstruction of Australia and industrialisation, as well as population in Australia for the nation's defence.
