Spurred on by the success of the IO Geothermal Energy Plant and the Sub-Mercurian Solar Swarm, the Europa Autonomous Ice Mining Project was a half manned half autonomous mission funded by both corporate and scientific wings of the International Space Administration. The scientific wing were focused on the manned research side of the mission, scouring the surface for signs of ancient life. The corporate wing of the mission was focused on cutting, packing and shipping ice from Europa to Mars and other human inhabited bodies for use as drinking water and eventual terraforming supplies.
