Two weeks after defendant's disagreement with Gallop, defendant told an acquaintance of Gallop who asked about him that "he just vanished in the middle of the night." Defendant told a friend of hers that Gallop had died, and she had had his body cremated because he had no family. In November 1988, Gallop's body was found buried under a gazebo in defendant's yard.
