AA: The San Francisco earthquake of 1906 was a powerful quake with a magnitude of 7.9 that struck off the coast of northern California on April 18, 1906, at 5:12 AM. From Oregon, in the north, to Los Angeles, California, the earth shook. San Francisco suffered significant damage, as well as other nearby cities like San Jose, Salinas, and Santa Rosa.
